How to Play DOWNS
DOWNS is a solo fantasy football game where you compete to have the highest-scoring weekly lineup. Earn letters to spell "DOWNS" and climb the leaderboard.
1. Pick Your Weekly Lineup
Each week, select players for each position:
- D — 2 Quarterbacks (QB)
- O — 3 Wide Receivers (WR)
- W — 3 Running Backs (RB)
- N — 2 Tight Ends (TE)
- S — 2 Defense/Special Teams (DST)
Picks lock a couple hours before games start for the week.
2. Earn Your Letters
To win a letter, outscore 50% of all other players' picks at that position for the week.
- Beat the field at QB → earn D
- Beat the field at WR → earn O, and so on.
Each player has a projected score based on standard fantasy stats (yards, touchdowns, receptions, etc.). Points are applied negatively for turnovers and lost yardage.
3. Use the Odds Multiplier
Every player has an Odds Multiplier that scales their final score.
- Favorites have lower multipliers but higher projections.
- Wildcards have lower projections but multipliers can reach 5.0× or beyond.
A wildcard with a high multiplier can be the smarter pick over a star player — even if their raw projection is lower.
Lock your multiplier before picks close or let it adjust with the latest news. Multipliers update at 9 AM ET every day.
4. The Goal
Win all five positions in a single week. Because you must beat the median in every category simultaneously, only about 3% of players are expected to complete a full "DOWNS" in any given week.
